One word appeared on The Challenge’s official Twitter account: “RIDE.” It was accompanied by an animated picture.
What does this mean? Well, it shouldn’t be too hard to figure out. Season 38 is tentatively named “Ride or Dies,” and it seems likely that the name will stick.
If you look at the Tweet, you’ll see six people — likely 3 pairs — hanging from a beam being carried by a helicopter.
But the tweet doesn’t even tell us much. We can’t make out any of the shadowy figures, but it does hint that promotions will be coming soon.
If I had to guess, I’d expect we’ll see a longer teaser on Wednesday during the 2-hour finale of The Challenge: USA. The franchise would be dumb not to use the CBS show to promote the flagship series. Sure, it hasn’t been a wild success, but its 2.1 million viewers exceeds anything we’ve seen on the MTV Challenge in the past decade.
I’m hoping, and anticipating, this will be the case. But the show has fumbled before, so it wouldn’t be a shock if the wait for a new season drags even longer.
EDIT:
BREAKING! There was a second tweet posted, revealing a new word: OR
This time, it looks like a bus accompanies the picture. Assuming we’re spelling out “Ride or Die,” it seems the sequence will be completed on Wednesday, the same date as the Challenge: USA finale.
EDIT:
BREAKING! (again) A third word: DIES
It’s RIDE OR DIES!! The theme of the season.
I give u credit for continuing coverage of the show. I logged on to my old Twitter account and saw ur page come up and remembered when I use to go on ur site alot from 2012-2014. Since then its just dropped in quality. it’s like a shell of its former self. What happend to do it?
Thanks, Raul. What happened? IN short, people stopped watching The Real World and they started using people from other shows. A casting shift was bound to happen at some point, but I never expected them to look abroad.
